BMBL ~+50%: WSJ says Bumble in advanced talks to go private with Ithaca Holdings at ~$1B — deal could land this week

One for the M&A / gap-and-hold crowd from late Monday.

The facts so far:
- The WSJ reported Bumble is in advanced talks to be taken private by Ithaca Holdings, a recently formed tech holding company founded by Ravi Gupta and John Hegeman, at a valuation of roughly $1B. Reuters confirmed it through its own source.
- A deal could be announced as soon as this week. Nothing is signed, and neither side commented.
- BMBL closed around $3.80 (+49.6%) on about 9x normal volume, after trading up as much as 57% to $3.98 intraday. The BBC puts the post-jump market value at just over $580M versus the ~$1B talk, so the gap to a deal price is still wide. Remember that headline valuation and price per share aren't the same thing once you add debt and the share structure.
- Background: Reuters reported earlier this year that Bumble was exploring a sale. The app dropped its women-message-first rule in August, and dating apps (MTCH included) have been losing users for a while.

How I'd approach it:
- This is a "reported talks" premium, not a signed deal. If a definitive agreement prints, the stock should pin near the offer price and the scalping is mostly done. If the talks stall, the stock gives back a lot fast.
- For day traders, I'd watch whether it holds above Monday's close in pre-market and the first 15 minutes. Holding $3.80 is constructive, and losing it opens up a fill toward the high-$2s.
- MTCH could catch some sympathy moves on any confirmed price, but I wouldn't build a trade around that.
