STZ ~-4.5% AH: Q2 beat (adj EPS $3.74 vs ~$3.60) but FY27 guide only reaffirmed, beer depletions -0.6% (Corona ~-5%)

Constellation Brands reported after Tuesday's close. On paper it was a beat, but the stock went the other way: down ~4.5% after hours (as much as ~5% early) from a $115.67 close, which had been +2% on the day.

What came out:
- Q2 FY27 comparable EPS $3.74 vs consensus ~$3.55–3.60; net sales $2.633B (+6%) vs ~$2.54B.
- Beer: net sales +5% on shipments +5.5%, but depletions (distributor sales to stores and bars, the number that matters) fell 0.6%. Modelo Especial ~-2%, Corona Extra ~-5%; Pacifico +19% and Victoria +15% offset part of it. Management blamed a weak World Cup off-premise period in June/July.
- Beer operating margin down 160bp to 39% on heavier marketing/SG&A.
- FY27 comparable EPS guide reaffirmed at $11.20–11.90. That's below last year's $11.82 at the midpoint, and the street was around $11.71. Organic sales guided -1% to +1%. Operating margin guide cut to 31–32% (from 32–33%).
- Small RTD deal: SpikedAde for $75M upfront, up to $278M more over five years. No change to the outlook.

My read: shipments beating depletions means distributors restocked, so the top-line beat is less clean than it looks. Options were pricing roughly ±6% into the print, so -4.5% is inside the implied move. That makes the 8:00 ET call the real catalyst. If they talk depletions improving in Q3, the gap could fill; if Hispanic-consumer commentary stays soft, I'd expect sellers on any bounce toward $113–114.

Anyone trading STZ at the open? Do you wait for the call, or take the gap before 8:00 ET?
