NVDA: +$150B buyback auth — remaining ~$235B through FY28 (record)

Post by LondonNewsTrader »

Monday capital-return print on NVDA: board authorized a $150B increase to the share repurchase program, lifting remaining capacity to about $235B — billed as the largest buyback authorization increase on record (tops Apple’s $110B from May 2024). Company says it expects to work through the remaining program into fiscal 2028. Huang framed it as cash generation from the AI platform shift; also noted plans to return excess FCF via buybacks and a dividend expected to grow over time. Pre-open tape had NVDA about +1% while index futures were soft.

Scalper read: mega-cap liquidity magnet on a risk-off open (oil/yields bid). Map whether the bid holds into cash hours vs fades as “authorization ≠ execution,” and whether semis/AI peers get sympathy flow or stay under the NQ umbrella.

Fading strength into the first hour, or treating NVDA as the long tell vs soft ES/NQ?
Anyone watching SMH / other megacap AI for relative strength vs the index?
