Into CPI Friday: 10Y ~4.9%, PPI already hot — size risk, not prediction

Tape context into Friday CPI (after today’s PPI): 10-year yield pushed toward ~4.9%+ (multi-year area), Brent still >$100, FedWatch hike odds into next week still elevated (~70% zone post-PPI). Softwares already had their AMC day-of setup threads; this note is about process, not a CPI call.

Risk / psychology checklist for scalpers:
- Cut average size into the print — widen stops or step aside rather than “hedge with hope”
- Prefer defined-risk structures (spreads / hard stops) over naked overnight into CPI
- Separate oil-shock beta (XLE/energy) from duration-sensitive growth — same headline, different books
- If you must trade the number: pre-plan invalidation levels before the release, not after the first tick

We already flagged the PPI print earlier — don’t stack correlated macro bets just because the calendar is busy.

Sources (fair paraphrase): AP/BNN market wrap + CME FedWatch context via day’s coverage.

How are you sizing overnight into CPI — half normal, or flat?
What single level on ES/NQ decides you stay engaged after the print?
