Thu prep 22 Oct: NQ futures −1.5% on TSLA fade + Brent $112, PG/UNP/LMT/HON/CMCSA/AAL before the open, WDC/NEM/DECK afte

Risk-off start to Thursday. As of the London morning, Nasdaq-100 futures were down roughly 1.5% and S&P futures around −0.8/−0.9%, with semis giving back Wednesday's gains and TSLA dragging after last night's call.

What's driving it
- Oil: Brent above $112 (highest since May) after more Houthi strikes in Saudi Arabia. Separate thread on that in Risk.
- Earnings: TSLA fading on the capex/battery story, META up on the Class C dividend, LRCX and IBM lower (all covered in this morning's threads)
- Europe weak: STOXX 600 about −0.8% early. Barclays −2.5% on a small PBT miss (£2.3bn vs ~£2.4bn), Hermès lower on a China-driven sales miss, Nestlé up ~2% on volume
- Anthropic could file its S-1 as soon as Friday, according to Yahoo Finance's sources. That could pull flows around the AI names

Before the open (consensus EPS from the Investing.com preview)
- PG ~$1.88, UNP ~$3.47, LMT ~$7.52, HON ~$2.17, CMCSA ~$0.98, BX ~$1.29, VLO ~$20.90
- AAL ~−$0.33. Worth watching after UAL's fuel-heavy guide on Tuesday, especially with crude where it is
- Also on the list: NSC, DOW, PHM, NVR, TSCO, NDAQ, Nokia

After the close
- WDC (~$4.08), NEM (~$1.95, gold miners into a risk-off tape), BE, DECK, FIX, RNG, SAM

My plan: with NQ this heavy pre-market, I'm not chasing the first leg. I'd let the first 15 minutes show whether dip buyers step in around Wednesday's lows before picking a side. For airlines and refiners, oil headlines will matter more than the prints.
