AMZN ~+5%: Morgan Stanley makes it Top Pick, PT $350 from $335 — AWS growth seen at 47% in 2027

Post by LondonNewsTrader »

One of the cleaner large-cap catalysts on a rebound Monday.

Morgan Stanley (Brian Nowak) moved Amazon (AMZN) to Top Pick, kept Overweight and lifted the PT to $350 from $335 — roughly 40% above Friday's ~$250 close. Stock has been trading around +5% intraday, after giving up 4.5%+ last week with the rest of the AI complex.

The five catalysts in the note, in short:
- Faster AWS: 2027/2028 revenue growth raised to 47%/42% (from 41%/37%), tied to Nvidia's comment that AWS should deploy ~2M of its GPUs over those two years
- AWS margins seen at 42%/44%, supporting ~$16.50 of 2028 EPS
- Bedrock visibility as a re-rating lever from ~15x 2028 EPS
- Agentic AI shopping — MS sees AMZN as an enabler and expects a tie-up with Meta's Muse agent over time; holiday season is the first real test
- Robotics fulfilment: every 10% of units through robotics-enabled FCs worth an estimated $2–4bn a year in savings (a 2027 story)
Bear/bull cases $220/$410. Separately today, AEP and X-Energy announced a proposed 960 MW SMR project in Indiana with Amazon as the intended long-term power buyer.

Tape note: this is a reiterated Overweight with a bigger PT, not a rating change — the move is as much "beaten-down mega-cap gets a reason" as new information. Watch whether it holds above the opening range into the close with QQQ +1.5%.

Are you treating AMZN as a momentum long into earnings, or fading top-pick pops once the index bounce stalls? And does the AWS GPU math change how you size MSFT/GOOGL alongside it?
