Another regional/super-regional print for the bank scorecard after last week's CFG/TFC/RF/MTB run.
Fifth Third (FITB) BMO today:
- Adj EPS $1.13 — Investing.com had consensus at $0.83 (large beat); other tapes showed ~$1.09, so check which estimate set you're using
- Revenue $3.33bn vs ~$3.34bn — essentially in line / slight miss depending on the source
- Stock was near flat to modestly green around the open (~$50.4–51 area vs Friday $50.37 close); not a gap-and-rip like CLF
Why it still matters for scalpers: FITB was on this morning's prep calendar with CLF. The beat keeps the "regionals can clear the bar" narrative going into the rest of earnings week, but the muted tape reaction says the market wanted more than an EPS beat (NII/NIM/credit detail on the call). Pair it with Friday's CFG dividend hike and TFC beat/rev-miss rather than trading FITB in isolation.

Are you still trading individual regionals on the print, or just reading the complex through KRE/XLF? And does a muted FITB reaction after a big EPS beat change how you fade the next bank that beats?
FITB Q3: adj EPS $1.13 vs ~$0.83–1.09 Street — big beat, revenue a hair light at $3.33bn
