CTAS post-print: rev $3.01B / adj EPS $1.39 beat — FY27 guide raised; tape soft ~−1%

Cintas (CTAS) Q1 FY27 (ended 31 Aug): revenue $3.014B (+10.9% YoY; organic +8.9%) vs ~$2.97B street; diluted EPS $1.36 (+13.3%); adjusted diluted EPS $1.39 (+15.8%) after ~$0.03 UniFirst deal costs, vs ~$1.35 expected. Gross margin 51.5% (+120 bp). Operating income $711.9M (+15.2%) incl. $14.4M UniFirst transaction expense. Full-year guide raised: revenue $12.15–12.27B (was $12.10–12.25B); adjusted diluted EPS $5.45–5.54 (was $5.36–5.50). Buybacks ~$545M in the quarter through 22 Sep. Despite beat + raise, cash wraps had CTAS roughly −1% area mid-session (~$196) — not a celebration gap.

Scalper angle: quality compounder that “works” on the print but can still chop when the tape is lazy. Watch whether UniFirst FTC chatter or the raise actually holds the bid into Europe’s close; mark vs PAYX’s harder dump for relative strength in business-services.

Buying the soft tape after a clean raise, or waiting for a reclaim of the pre-print level first?
