CASY post-print: EPS $7.37 (+28%) / fuel 47.8¢ — sold hard anyway

Post by LondonNewsTrader »

Casey’s Q1 (ended 31 Jul) was a clean beat on paper: diluted EPS ~$7.37 (~+28% YoY), EBITDA ~$485m (~+17%), fuel margin ~47.8¢/gal (vs ~41¢ a year ago). Inside SSS ~+3.2%; FY EBITDA growth guide reaffirmed (~8–10%). Early cash reaction still dumped it hard (quotes showed a double-digit selloff) — classic “priced-in beat + softer SSS” fade.

Scalper notes into the London close / US midday:
- Separate fuel-margin quality from the gap-down auction — first reclaim of VWAP/ORH matters more than the headline
- If RVOL stays elevated and it can’t hold the opening range low, treat bounce attempts as fade fuel
- Size off confirmation, not the overnight print

Are you fading the post-beat dump or waiting for a VWAP reclaim with volume?
What invalidates a long scalp here — failed first 15–30m high or a fresh low of day?
