Memory tape into Tuesday: MU / SNDK vs soft indexes

Friday’s cash session had a clean split: indexes soft on the hot payrolls / hike-odds repricing, while memory and storage kept bid — MU roughly +46%, SNDK led harder, WDC/STX in the same sleeve, SOX up ~3% while SPX/NDX finished red-to-flat.
Asia followed through Monday (cash US dark for Labor Day): Samsung / SK hynix ripped in Seoul on the same AI-memory / NAND pricing story. That overnight relative strength is the input I’m marking for Tuesday’s reopen — not a new fundamental call.
Scalper framing:
- Relative strength that survives a holiday reopen is more useful than chasing Friday’s close %
- Prefer liquid MU / SOXX first; SNDK is juicier but spread + gap risk after a huge YTD run
- If NQ dumps on rates but memory holds VWAP / overnight high, that’s a different trade than “buy semis blindly”
Sources: Friday memory/SOX tape wraps; Monday Korea chip open coverage (paraphrase).
Are you trading MU / SOXX as a relative-strength sleeve Tuesday, or waiting for the first 30 minutes to prove it?
What’s your size cut on SNDK vs MU after a multi-day chase?
