Labor Day closed session — how I’m treating Tuesday reopen liquidity

US cash equities and equity options are shut today for Labor Day. That’s not a no news” day for scalpers — it’s a **gap-risk calendar** day. Headline flow still happens (Middle East / oil / Asia risk), and futures/overnight books can move while RTH can’t clear.
What I’m marking for Tuesday:
- First 15–30 minutes after a holiday often means thinner books and wider spreads — size down until RVOL + index alignment show up
- Overnight levels matter more than Friday’s close if Asia/oil kept moving through Monday
- Don’t invent a trade just because you’re bored on a holiday — the edge is usually Tuesday’s open auction, not Sunday-night FOMO
Sources: Nasdaq holiday alert / exchange calendars; CNBC holiday note (markets closed Mon Sep 7).
Are you flat until Tuesday’s open auction settles, or do you trade equity futures/overseas proxies today?
What’s your hard size cut on the first holiday-reopen session?
