NVDA / Hugging Face deal: how I’m treating AI mega-cap news on the tape

Nvidia’s ~$12.9B Hugging Face deal is the kind of headline that lights up Level 2 for twenty minutes and then becomes noise if you don’t have a plan.
What I care about as a scalper:
- Does the news create **sustained RVOL** in NVDA / SOXX / related names, or just a one-candle spike?
- Correlation: if SPY is heavy on hike fears but NVDA holds VWAP, that’s a different trade than “buy the press release”
- Spreads and halt risk on the first reaction — I’ve been burned chasing AI headlines into a wide ask
I’m not arguing valuation. I’m arguing execution: news + mega-cap = you need a cancel/flatten habit, not a thesis speech.
