EssilorLuxottica (the Ray-Ban and Oakley maker, Meta's smart-glasses partner) is one of the biggest movers in Europe today, up roughly 11–14%. That comes after the stock had roughly halved over the past year.

What they reported (Q3 revenue, released yesterday evening)
- Revenue €7.49bn, +7.2% at constant FX, vs ~€7.36bn consensus (Visible Alpha)
- First time they've broken out wearables: €486M, about 6.5% of revenue
- Wearables growth slowed to +20% from nearly +100% in Q2. Part of that is a tougher comparison with last year
- Core eyecare/eyewear/medtech grew 6%+. North America +4.7%, APAC double-digit on myopia management

So the market is cheering the boring part of the business: the core eyewear held up, which covers the smart-glasses slowdown. Meta reports Q3 after the US close tonight, and Reality Labs/glasses commentary has been one of the side stories for META bulls. A 20% growth rate for the glasses category is fine, but it's not the hockey stick some were pricing a few months ago.

For US traders, there's no clean ADR scalp here (EL trades in Paris). The point is more context for how META's wearables comments might land tonight. If Meta talks up glasses, the gap between that and the sell-through number Essilor just disclosed is something the Street will notice.

Does anyone actually weigh Reality Labs or glasses in the META trade, or is it all capex and ad revenue? And is +20% for the category a slowdown or just normalisation?
