AAPL fresh record above $345, back over $5T for the sixth time — can it close above the ~$342.60 line?

While the chip names are getting sold, Apple is doing the opposite. It printed a new all-time high (about $345.45, per Investing.com) right after the open today and has pushed toward $347–348 since, putting its market cap back around $5.0–5.06T.

The level that matters:
- Per Dow Jones Market Data (via WSJ yesterday), AAPL needs to close above about $342.60 to finish a day above a $5T market cap.
- It has crossed $5T intraday five times before (twice in July, twice in September, and again yesterday) but has never closed above it. Today is attempt number six.
- The stock is up roughly 39% over the past year and about 32% over the past six months.

Why it's catching flows: the tape looks like a rotation out of AI hardware (memory and semis are weak again after the Broadcom CEO comments and the CXMT story) into mega-caps seen as "AI users" rather than "AI spenders". It's the same theme as the summer, when AAPL overtook NVDA.

For scalpers: $342.60 is a clean reference level to work with. Holding above it into the close confirms the milestone, while a fade back under it puts the "fifth failed close" crowd in charge again. Remember that CPI is tomorrow morning, so late-day positioning could get choppy.

Are you treating $342.60 as support for longs, or waiting to fade a failed close? And is anyone pairing AAPL long against SMH today?
