HAE ~+16–17% to ~$119: CSL plans full US rollout of Haemonetics NexSys plasma devices by end-2027 — guide unchanged

Haemonetics gapped up on an 8-K this morning, ~+14–16% pre-market. Barron's had it ~+17% around $119.5 intraday, which would be the highest close since 2021.
What changed:
- In August HAE signed a non-exclusive supply deal with CSL Plasma (NexSys PCS devices with Persona PLUS, plus disposables) with no minimum purchase commitments. The market treated it as an option.
- Today CSL said it expects to finish the rollout by the end of calendar 2027, and told HAE it currently plans to switch all of its current US plasma collection centres.
- HAE is not updating FY27 guidance yet. Scope and timing can still change, and it plans to quantify the impact on its fiscal Q2 call in November.
How I'd trade it:
- This is a de-risking gap. The deal went from "might use" to "plans to use everywhere", which is a real change. But there's no new guidance number, so analysts will be rebuilding models over the next few days. Watch for PT bumps as a follow-through catalyst.
- Mid-cap medtech gaps of this size often base for a day or two. I'd rather see it hold the opening range low and build above the 2021 area than chase extensions.
- Mind liquidity. HAE doesn't trade like a mega-cap, so spreads widen off the open and into the close.

Do you trade gaps on contract confirmations like this, or wait for the analyst model resets? Anyone have HAE on the watchlist for tomorrow?
