You don't need two hours of research theater. You need a ranked shortlist before the bell.

I used to "research" until 09:28 and then chase whatever was moving. That wasn't preparation. That was anxiety with browser tabs.

### Timer protocol (20:00 on the clock)

|| Min | Task |
|-----|------|
| 0–5 | Scan gaps + relative volume; dump into raw list |
| 5–10 | Hard gates: spread, halt risk, earnings binary, too-thin |
| 10–15 | Catalyst one-liner + float/SI glance |
| 15–18 | Rank top 5 with the scorecard |
| 18–20 | Mark open plan: stalk / open drive only / skip |

### Hard gates (examples — tune to your account)

Code: Select all

- Spread at your expected entry window > X cents → kill
- Avg share price outside your liquidity comfort → kill
- Unconfirmed rumor only → B-list at best
- Already ran 30%+ overnight without pullback structure → caution tag
### Output

Five tickers max on the wall. Everything else is distraction inventory. If 20 minutes isn't enough, your filters are soft. Tighten gates before you buy another scanner. I've bought scanners. Gates beat scanners.

How long is your real premarket build — timed, not guessed?
What's your #1 hard gate that kills the most names?
Cap at 5 on the wall, or do you run hotter than that?
Anyone finish the 20 minutes and still feel the urge to add "just one more"?
