Breadth thin into Q3 end Wed: ~26% SPX above 50-DMA — equal-weight lag

Tape context into Monday’s session: last week’s SPX gain (~+1.2%) came with equal-weight roughly −1.1%, small caps soft, and seven of eleven sectors lower — classic narrow leadership. Only about 26% of S&P members sit above their 50-day moving average while the cap-weighted index holds near the top of the Aug–Sep range (~7,550–7,800), sub-1% under the Aug 13 record. Wednesday is also quarter-end, so rebalance / window-dressing flows can add noise around levels.
Scalper read: chase risk is higher when participation is this thin. Prefer relative-strength leaders (or clean fades of extended AI names) over “index beta” until breadth confirms. Watch 7,800 close as the range break vs failure with soft internals.
Source (public): Lance Roberts daily / market breadth wraps, week into Mon 28 Sep.
Are you sizing off ES levels or requiring leadership breadth first?
Anyone marking RSP / IWM as the tell for whether this rally broadens into Q4?
