Mon prep: PCE Wed + NFP Fri + MU AMC Wed — Fed speakers Tue; CCL Tue

Monday open after Friday’s firm close (indexes higher into the weekend; COST led consumer names). Overnight futures into the London morning were soft — S&P ~−0.2%, Nasdaq ~−0.2–0.3%, Dow futures roughly −150 to −160 — with oil and MidEast headlines setting the tone rather than a busy BMO tape.
Week calendar for scalpers: Tuesday Fed speakers (Chicago’s Goolsbee + NY’s Williams); Carnival (CCL) on the cruise/fuel watchlist into its print. Wednesday: August PCE (Fed’s preferred inflation gauge; street roughly +3.8% YoY / core ~+3.4%) plus Micron (MU) after the close — AI-memory guide is the tape mover. Thursday: weekly claims + manufacturing PMI. Friday: September nonfarm payrolls (street cluster ~75–100k after August’s hot 162k) and Dallas Fed’s Logan. Light Monday AMC names (JEF / MTN) are secondary.
Scalper read: map the week’s live wires first — oil/Hormuz into rates, then PCE/MU midweek and NFP Friday. Mark overnight ES/NQ range and whether energy keeps the inflation→yields channel hot into the open.
Which live wire are you marking first into the open — oil/Hormuz into yields, or the midweek PCE/MU cluster?
Anyone fading the soft overnight futures into Monday’s thin BMO tape?
