Paychex (PAYX) printed Q1 FY27 this morning (distinct from the Wed prep calendar thread): total revenue $1.6305B (+6% YoY) vs street ~$1.627B; diluted EPS $1.21 (+14%); adjusted diluted EPS $1.34 (+10%) vs ~$1.32 consensus. Management Solutions revenue $1.213B (+4%) missed the ~$1.23B print some desks had; PEO & Insurance $367.6M (+12%). Operating margin 38.0% (vs 35.2%). FY27 outlook kept total revenue growth 5–6%; PEO/Insurance growth nudged to 7–8% (from 6–7%); interest-on-client-funds $200–210M (was $195–205M). Reuters/BUZZ wraps had PAYX roughly −6.6% to ~$107 in the early session after a modest beat — classic “beat and dump” when the core Mgmt Solutions line softens.

Scalper read: payroll names often gap on adj EPS then fade if organic/Mgmt Solutions is the miss. Mark opening range vs VWAP; don’t invent a guidance cut that wasn’t in the release.

Fading the −7% post-print as a one-day event, or treating Mgmt Solutions as the real tell into the next payroll prints?
