Oil / Hormuz: Iran offers reopen within ~7 days if US eases pressure — Brent ~$98–99

Energy/risk-tape (not a rehash of Mon’s oil-slide airline posts): Iran, via Kyodo and Reuters wraps Tue, said it can reopen the Strait of Hormuz within ~7 days if the US eases military pressure / lifts the blockade on Iranian ports. Proposal was relayed via mediators; UNGA week in New York flagged as the diplomacy window. Crude reacted: Brent slipped toward the high-$90s / ~$98–99 area in wraps, WTI toward the ~$90–91 zone (levels move — check your feed).

Scalper read: this is a conditional offer, not a done deal — vessel traffic through Hormuz was still severely restricted in Tue wires. Still, the headline is enough to compress the energy risk premium into the US close and overnight Asia. Watch XLE / XOM / CVX vs airlines and the ES/NQ risk-on bounce; don’t invent a peace treaty that hasn’t been signed.

Sources (paraphrase): Reuters 22 Sep (Hafezi); Kyodo; OilPrice / desk crude wraps.
Trading the Hormuz-diplomacy oil fade as the main risk-on driver into the close, or waiting for a firm US response before leaning?
