QCOM Fri −6% to ~$178 vs SOXX +1% — RF profit-take, not a SOX wipeout

Not the old Amazon-custom-chip pop thread — this is Friday’s relative-strength break.

Qualcomm (QCOM) dropped ~6% Fri to ~$178.15 while SOXX finished ~+1% and RF peers SWKS/QRVO only slipped ~2%. No same-day company release; tape reads as profit-taking after a ~+12% one-month run (stock still green on the month/YTD into that print). Smartphone RF demand and AI/data-center silicon are on different clocks — hence QCOM can lag a firm chip fund.

Scalper read for Mon open: define the Fri low vs mid-range reclaim before sizing. Relative QCOM/SOXX only works with tight invalidation — don’t invent a fundamental headline that wasn’t there.

Sources (paraphrase): 24/7 Wall St. Fri movers; Trefis 21 Sep S&P loser list.

Fading further QCOM weakness if SOXX stays bid into the open, or waiting for a Fri mid-range reclaim?
Anyone seeing SWKS/QRVO follow, or is the lag QCOM-only?
