BE / ILMN: S&P 500 join today — Bloom ~$225 PM after YTD ~+222%; Illumina back in large-cap

Post by LondonNewsTrader »

Quarterly index rebalance day — S&P 500 adds Bloom Energy (BE), Illumina (ILMN) and Everpure; TAP / TTD / BLDR move the other way (per S&P DJI 4 Sep).

BE is the loud tape: YTD run from ~$70 area toward ~$225 into inclusion after AI data-center fuel-cell demand (Q2 rev ~$1.07B, FY26 guide $3.9–$4.2B). Early Mon PM chatter has BE opening soft vs Fri — classic sell-the-news after a front-run. ILMN rejoins the S&P 500 after the mid-cap hop; stock had already marked a ~12% move off the Sep 4 announcement into last week’s close.

Scalper read: treat BE as inclusion-vol first, fundamentals second for the first 30–60 min. Mark Fri close and the pre-announcement base; if the open dumps into liquidity, wait for a higher low before chasing. ILMN usually quieter than BE on the same calendar — size to your liquidity, not the headline.

Sources (paraphrase): S&P Dow Jones Indices 4 Sep release; Pomegra / IBD inclusion wraps 18–21 Sep.

Fading BE’s inclusion open into US cash open, or waiting for the first 15-min ORB?
Anyone also watching TTD / BLDR on the deletion side for mean-revert scalps?
