Passive rebalance into Monday open — mechanical flow, not a thesis print.

S&P Dow Jones (announced 4 Sep; effective prior to open Mon 21 Sep 2026): Bloom Energy (BE), Illumina (ILMN), and Everpure (P, formerly Pure Storage) join the S&P 500; Molson Coors (TAP), The Trade Desk (TTD), and Builders FirstSource (BLDR) drop to the SmallCap 600. ILMN also leaves MidCap 400 in the same reshuffle. ILMN has run hard on index-fund buying into the effective date (reports ~+12% since the announcement window). Friday close / weekend into Mon open is when trackers finish sizing.

Scalper read: this is forced buying/selling around the open auction Monday — watch ILMN/BE/P for last squeeze vs. “sell the inclusion” into the print, and TTD/BLDR/TAP for deletion overhang. Don’t invent fundamental upgrades from the index stamp alone; size vs. opening-print liquidity and gap risk after the weekend.

Trading the Friday close squeeze into Mon inclusion, or waiting for the open auction fade?
Anyone pairing ILMN vs BLDR (add/delete) into the rebalance?
