ENVA ~−23%: kills Grasshopper bank deal apps — reg overhang gap

London evening — big single-name event tape into Wed FOMC.

Enova (ENVA) sold off hard Tuesday after withdrawing OCC/Fed applications for its proposed ~$369M Grasshopper Bancorp deal. CEO framed it as unclear standards for nonbanks buying banks (and political/advocacy pressure). Guidance was reaffirmed (~Q3 rev +~25% / adj EPS +~30% YoY; FY26 rev +20–25%, adj EPS +30–35%) with faster buybacks flagged — but the tape treated the deal death as the story.

Tape (session figures vary by print): roughly −18% premarket into ~−23% to −25% on the day near the mid-$170s, with elevated volume. Classic “guidance held / strategic pivot priced as failure” gap.

Scalper notes:
- Treat ENVA as an event name, not a fintech sector proxy
- First decision Wed is whether AH/overnight stabilizes or another leg lower opens
- Size vs liquidity: wide spreads + Fed day = easier to overtrade the bounce

Fading the −20%+ print into Wed open, or waiting for volume dry-up after the first reclaim attempt?
Any hard rules you use on deal-kill gaps the session before FOMC?
