Hotkey Doctrine for Discrete Size / Cancel / Flatten

Hotkeys are either a surgical kit or a suicide vest. Doctrine first.
I fat-fingered a size-up next to flatten once in my thirties. Account survived. Ego didn't for a week. Map changed that afternoon.
Principles
1. No hotkey places an order without a defined size preset. Ambiguous size = eventual fat-finger. Not maybe. Eventually.
2. Cancel All and Flatten are isolated — not adjacent to Buy/Sell if you can help it.
3. Modifier for Flatten (Ctrl+Alt+F or similar) if the platform allows. Accidental flat hurts. Accidental reverse hurts more.
4. Same layout on VPS and home. Muscle memory is part of latency.
5. Disable charting-browser keybinds when focus fights your broker binds. TradingView vs platform keybind wars are a classic own-goal.
Suggested minimal map (adapt — don't worship)
Validation drill
Paper account. Twenty random cancel drills. Ten flatten drills with a position open. Zero accidental opposite-side orders — or you redesign the map. No exceptions for "I was tired."
Post your map without account identifiers. If your platform can't bind Flatten safely, reduce size until it can. Software limits are risk limits. I've sat people down and said that when they wanted a bigger hotkey instead of a safer one.
