Close: SPX/NDX ~+1% snaps 4-day skid — Friday levels into FOMC week

US cash equities closed the week with a relief rebound: S&P 500 and Nasdaq roughly +1%, Dow up ~1%+, snapping a four-day losing streak (longest since June). Drivers that mattered into the close were the oil retreat (Brent off ~3% from overnight highs near $110 toward ~$104) and a “close-enough” CPI that didn’t add a fresh upside surprise — even as hike odds for Sep 15–16 stayed elevated.

This is the weekend levels thread, not another CPI/FOMC thesis dump: mark Friday’s high/low and VWAP on SPY/QQQ before Sunday futures. A +1% Friday after four down days into a live hike week is exactly when Monday can either extend the bounce or gap-fade “sell the news.”

Checklist:
- Friday post-CPI high/low + close vs open range
- Separate energy names (oil still elevated vs earlier in the week) from duration/tech
- Cap size on Monday open — first 15 minutes after a rebound Friday are for confirmation

Holding Friday’s rebound levels as Monday bias, or fading strength into the Fed?
