Desk Setup That Doesn't Fight Your Entries

This isn't interior design. It's cutting the number of times your hand goes to the wrong place at 09:31.
I rearranged monitors three times in one year before I admitted the problem wasn't "energy" — it was that Flatten lived on the far screen and Buy lived under my palm.
Layout doctrine (what stuck for me)
1. Primary DOM / order ticket centered under your eyes. Charts can be peripheral. The button that flattens cannot.
2. One screen ≈ one job when you can: tape/DOM | chart | news/journal.
3. Measure mouse travel to Cancel / Flatten in centimeters. Not aspirations.
4. Keyboard zone for hotkeys — left hand stays home. Right hand does not go hunting.
5. Phone face-down or in another room for the first 30 minutes if texts turn into revenge trades. Ask me how I know.
Cable / power
UPS on PC + monitors. Short blip + accidental market order is a story you only want to tell once.
Label the Ethernet to the wall. Future-you at 09:28 will thank you.
Two power strips: "trading" vs "chargers and junk." Sounds petty until Update Manager and a phone charger share a strip that dies.
Audio
Audible fills on. Chat / Discord off during the open unless it's a structured open-call. No autoplay video news on the same machine as the DOM. Your attention is part of latency.
Cold-start test
Sit down. Unlock → platform up → flat hotkey reachable in under 20 seconds. Time it. If you can't, the desk is theater.
How many monitors are you actually using for live size — and what's on the center one?
Anyone run a single-screen scalp desk on purpose? What did you cut?
Where does Flatten live on your keyboard/mouse map, and have you ever fat-fingered it?
Do you keep Discord/Slack audible during the open, or is that a hard no?
