CHYM +11% on $590M Stride Bank deal — charter path, open plan

Fintech tape: Chime (CHYM) jumped ~11% after agreeing to buy nationally chartered Stride Bank for $590m cash (closing targeted 1H27, subject to Fed/OCC). Stride has been Chime’s bank partner for years; post-close it becomes Chime Bank, N.A., and Chime becomes a bank holding company. Company flagged >$100m net synergies (sponsor fees, lending, funding costs) and raised Q3/FY revenue guide alongside the deal.
Scalper framing into Thu:
- Deal + guide lift is a clean catalyst, but regulatory close is months away — trade the liquidity/RVOL, not the 2027 narrative
- Watch whether the gap holds above VWAP on declining RVOL (digest) vs a full gap-fill if rates stay sticky
- Prefer defined risk; fintech can reprice fast when 10y yields are near multi-year highs

Fading the CHYM gap into PPI, or only fading if it loses the open range low?
Are you pairing this vs SOFI/fintech peers, or treating CHYM as a standalone event name today?
